RSC Volume Down Slightly in '02

STOCKHOLM — Rental Service Corp. had a slight rental volume decrease in 2002, Atlas Copco CEO Gunnar Brock said during the Stockholm-based companies fourth-quarter conference call.

While there was no improvement in market demand for the rental service business area, Brock said the company realized a slight increase in same-store growth.

Full-year 2002 revenues were down 7 percent for Atlas Copco as a whole, Brock said.

Overall, demand for Atlas Copco's products and services is expected to remain unchanged during the coming quarter, but the political situation in the Middle East has increased uncertainty.

Scottsdale, Ariz.-based RSC is No. 2 on the RER 100.
