LAS VEGAS-RDO Rental Co. entered the Nevada equipment rental market in December with the purchase of Rebel Equipment Rentals' assets here. Terms were not disclosed.

The acquired branch of Rebel Equipment Rentals, a division of Perris, California-based Rebel Rents, serves Las Vegas-area construction and industrial equipment markets.

"We plan to increase our presence in Las Vegas over the next several months and to explore other opportunities to continue growing our equipment rental business," said RDO Rental president Bill Hutton.

In the past two years, Cottonwood, Ariz.-based RDO Rental has expanded from five to 13 branches in Arizona, California and Nevada. A subsidiary of RDO Equipment Co., RDO Rental was ranked No. 73 on the 1998 RER 100.
