All Quiet on the Eastern Front With Godwin's New Pump
Godwin Pumps of America was built on the rental business. Literally. The Bridgeport, N.J.-based company was founded in 1976 to meet the needs of rental centers, and nearly 25 years later, that role has not changed.
"Our biggest customers are our rental customers," says Joe Abbott, national sales manager. "We build our pumps to rent, and our customers tell us they need quiet machines. That is where the rental industry is going."
The Dri-Prime CD225M pump epitomizes the company's response to rental customers.
The pump, designed for general solids handling, has a noise level of less than 65 decibels for applications in which the environment dictates minimal noise during pumping. The unit is built for sewer bypass, pumping station, dewatering, and portable water booster pumping applications.
The Dri-Prime CD225M features an acoustically silenced enclosure to reduce pump and engine noise, and a hospital muffler further reduces operating noise. Removable panels give technicians easy access to service locations, and the control panel has a lockable door to prevent misuse.
Abbott says the unit also has automatic engine shutdown.
The pump weighs approximately 4,700 pounds and has a maximum flow rate of 3,000 gallons per minute. The machine is capable of handling solids up to 3 inches.
