Briggs & Stratton Daihatsu, Milwaukee, has named Jeffrey Albright as president and general manager, succeeding Paul Farny, who is retiring after 21 years with the company. Farny will serve as a consultant through June 2000.
Christopher MacAllister was installed as president of the Associated Equipment Distributors at the association's 81st annual meeting last month. MacAllister is president and CEO of Caterpillar dealer MacAllister Machinery, based in Indianapolis.
Other elected AED officers are senior vice president and treasurer John Zoubek of A.H. Harris & Sons, Parlin, N.J.; vice president Robert McNutt of Wolverine Tractor & Equipment, Detroit; vice president Thomas Wilson of United Equipment, Memphis, Tenn.; and vice president, Canada, Tim Kramer of Kramer Ltd., Regina, Saskatchewan.
The Construction Industry Manufac-turers Association has elected William "Lex" Taylor as its chairman. He is president of Taylor Machine Works, Louisville, Ky.
The Equipment Manufacturers Institute has elected Richard Christman as its chairman. He is senior vice president, strategy and corporate development, for Case Corp.
John Collins has joined Time Condor, Waco, Texas, as a regional sales manager, covering Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska.
Denver-based Taylor Tools has named Ray Knapp as Midwest regional sales manager, covering 12 states spanning Texas to Wisconsin.
Genisys Software has moved its headquarters from Minneapolis to Brooklyn Park, Minn.
The Connecticut Association of Rental Dealers recently presented Charlie Contant of Fleet Business Products, East Hartford, Conn., with the John Sherry Vendor of the Year award. Contant also received the award in 1995.
Deere agricultural and construction dealer RDO Equipment has named Gary Weihs as chief operating officer.
Minneapolis-based Graco has appointed its former CEO and recently retired vice chairman George Aristides as interim president and CEO while it searches for a permanent successor to James Earnshaw, who resigned effective Dec. 31, 1999.
Mi-T-M Corp. has promoted Sam Humphrey to president. Humphrey has been with the Peosta, Iowa-based company for 10 years, holding various positions in sales, marketing and administration.
John Pfeffer has been tabbed to head Caterpillar's North American Commercial Division, replacing Ron Bonati, who passed away unexpectedly. Pfeffer was chairman of Tokyo-based Shin Caterpillar Mitsubishi. His duties there will be assumed by other executives until a successor is found.
Time Condor has promoted Troy Young to parts specialist and Brad Billeck to service technician. The Waco, Texas, company also has named former Snorkel senior quality technician Chris Shoots as a service technician and Jim Bereck as senior manufacturing engineer.
Daewoo Heavy Industries has named J.S. Yang as president. Daewoo has North American divisions in Suwanee, Ga. (construction and compact equipment); Cleveland (lift trucks); and West Caldwell, N.J. (machine tools) - all of which are overseen by Daewoo Heavy Industries America president H.Y. Lee.
