SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - National Equip-ment Services has acquired computer software supplier Management Technology America, CEO Kevin Rodgers told RER.

Rodgers said the supplier, based here, will continue to service more than 200 companies, all of which are either pure rental companies or equipment dealers with rental divisions. A large number of NACCO forklift dealers are MTA users.

Rodgers said NES will invest funds into expanding the capabilities of MTA's software programs, which tie NES' 154 branches together. Former owner Hans Ager and the rest of its management team will continue with the company.

Evanston, Ill.-based NES is No. 7 on the RER 100. Rodgers said about five more acquisitions will close shortly.

PLEASANTVILLE, N.J. - United Rentals has acquired one of Canada's largest aerial sales and rental companies, according to former owner Barry Weaver.

Skyreach Equipment Ltd., based in this suburb of Edmonton, Alberta, has more than 2,000 aerial work platforms in its fleet and a dozen locations. Skyreach does business as Nationwide Equipment in its two Ontario branches.

According to Canadian sources, Skyreach has annual revenues of more than $50 million Canadian. Weaver has an ownership interest in the Edmonton Oilers hockey team and recently bought sponsorship in the arena, which has been renamed the Skyreach Centre. The company will continue using the Skyreach name in the Edmonton area because of its prominence there.

"We now have about 80 branches in Canada," United CEO Brad Jacobs told RER. "Canada is very important to us."
