This Mini-Crawler Easily Gets In and Out of Tight Spots
This might be your standard sales pitch, but Rayco is backing it up with a new mini-crawler designed to work in tight spots and perform the same work as a machine twice its size.
“You'll never believe what it does until you see it operate,” Rayco sales manager J.R. Bowling says. “There isn't anything else like it out there.”
The C85D mini-crawler weighs 7,850 pounds and is powered by a four-cylinder, 82-horsepower Deutz turbo charged diesel engine. It is nearly 7 feet high, 5.75 feet wide and has a cab width of nearly 3 feet. Bowling says those dimensions make it perfect for working in areas where conventional machines won't fit.
The mini-crawler includes a six-way blade, joystick controls and a cab-forward design. The blade is 80 inches wide, 26 inches high and can be raised 25 inches. Bowling adds that the unit's compact size and relatively light weight make transport simple. The mini-crawler can be towed by a three-quarter-ton pickup.
“The advantage of this machine is that it can be towed easily,” says Bowling, adding that Rayco is targeting the C85D at the rental and construction equipment markets. “It has the accessibility and ease of towing that larger machines can't offer.”
The mini-crawler is offered with three options: a blade brush guard, a fire plow and a forestry door.
