NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. — Horizon Advisor Services, Newport Beach, Calif., announced the addition of rental industry executives Ira Mendelsohn and Mike Rakestraw to the company's board of advisors, a management and financial advisory firm recently founded by Shaun Flanagan, former president of Horizon High Reach and current chief operating officer for Horizon High Reach Europe and Horizon High Reach Argentina.

Mendelsohn was founder and CEO of Rental Service Corp., formerly Acme Rents, CEO and principal owner of Acme Rents, president and minority owner of U.S. Rentals and chairman of UK Plant. More recently, Mendelsohn backed experienced rental managers in creating independent rental companies Cowan Rental Services in Southern California and Action Rentals in Colorado.

Rakestraw is a partner in Atticus Capital, and served as lead investor or principal owner in the growth of several rental companies. He played major roles in the buying, building, financing and selling of Buckner Rental Service, Action Rentals, Acme Rents and Abbey Event Services. Rakestraw is also the founder of RentalSite LLC, a rental Internet portal.

HAS offers services ranging from consultation to complete company reorganization, operational and financial advice and financial restructuring. It can offer advice on debt negotiations, re-financings, sale-leasebacks, mergers or dispositions.
