Ingersoll-Rand Buys Neal Mfg.
Ingersoll-Rand has acquired Carrollton, Ga.-based Neal Mfg., which makes road-paving machinery, and added it to its newly formed infrastructure development sector. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Woodcliff Lake, N.J.-based Ingersoll-Rand, maker of Bobcat construction equipment, said the purchase reflected its plan to focus on businesses such as climate control, security and industrial equipment.
Said Herbert Henkel, I-R president and chief executive officer: "The acquisition of Neal fits our strategy to expand our participation in global markets through product line extensions. Specifically, Neal complements and extends our existing road development capabilities."
