Honda Power Equipment Receives Clean Air Recognition
The Coalition for Clean Air (CCA), during its annual awards luncheon held in Los Angeles, Calif., recently honored American Honda Motor Co. for its corporate leadership in developing, promoting and marketing environmentally responsible low-emission power equipment.
Alpharetta, Ga.-based Honda Power Equipment's technological and environmental leadership includes the introduction of cleaner and more fuel-efficient overhead valve four-stroke engine technology. Honda also recently introduced the first viable lightweight and clean running four-stroke alternative to two-stroke engines for handheld applications like string trimmers.
CCA is dedicated to restoring clean, healthful air to California by advocating responsible public health policy, providing technical and educational expertise, and promoting broad-based community involvement. It is CCA's opinion that in addition to developing and manufacturing low emission equipment, Honda Power Equipment has distinguished itself by making environmental protection part of its marketing message.
“We are honored that CCA acknowledges Honda's commitment to designing and building equipment that is not only premium in quality, but exemplary of our desire to be company that society wants to exist,” said Honda Power Equipment vice president, Wade Terry. “Honda recognizes that it has an ongoing responsibility and commitment to environmentally responsible engine technology.”
