Home Depot, Deere Form Tool Pact

RENTAL EQUIPMENT REGISTER STAFF

ATLANTA - Home Depot will become the exclusive distributor of John Deere's Homelite hand-held power equipment beginning in the spring of 2001, according to Securities and Exchange Commission documents filed by the Atlanta-based firm.

The Homelite line, including string trimmers, blowers and edgers, will be sold only through Home Depot and Deere dealers. Other John Deere-branded lawn-and-garden equipment is not included in the arrangement.
