Hitachi Power Tools has partnered with online retail giant Amazon.com to sell its complete line of electric and pneumatic power tools.

Hitachi will train the Amazon.com customer service team to answer tool-related questions from contractors and do-it-yourselfers. On the site, each Hitachi product will feature a brief description to help educate shoppers.

Hitachi, Norcross, Ga., manufactures and services power tools for wood, concrete and metal applications, as well as pneumatic nailers, staplers, compressorsand collated fasteners.

In a newly formed strategic alliance, Multiquip Inc. is introducing a line of concrete saws this month that feature diamond blades manufactured by Sanders Saws.

Through the partnership, Sanders Saws, Honey Brook, Pa., hopes to expand its presence in the rental industry, while allowing Multiquip to establish an immediate footing in a new product segment, according to the companies. Multiquip, Carson, Calif., also manufactures pumps, welders, generators, and concrete products.

"Our strategic alliance with Sanders Saws will combine Multiquip's market-driven culture with the sensitivity to customer needs, which has also been the driving force behind Sanders Saws," said Roger Euliss, Multiquip executive vice president/COO.
