Former CECO Owner Begins Colorado Aerial Startup

HENDERSON, Colo. — Dennis Hensen, former co-owner of Contractors Equipment Co. in Commerce City, Colo., has opened a small rental, sales and service company in Henderson, a suburb northeast of Denver. Hensen Equipment LLC will concentrate on rental, sales and service of aerial work platforms and telescopic forklifts.

Hensen founded CECO in 1987 with a partner and had 55 telescopic forklifts in the company's rental fleet as well as a large aerial inventory when they sold CECO to Horizon High Reach in 1998. Horizon sold to United Rentals about a year later. Hensen remained with United for about a year and a half before deciding to go back into business for himself.
