Electronic Control System Provides Power to Dozer
Komatsu introduces its KomStat II line of dozers designed for grading work in construction, forestry and landscaping applications. The D31, D37 and D39 dozers include Komatsu's KomStat II hydrostatic transmission, which allows variable or intermediate speed selection.
Ranging from 75 hp to 95 hp, the dozers come standard with a power angle tilt blade. The dozers are equipped with a new ergonomically designed palm command control system, which is designed for an improved operating environment and allows the operator to shift speeds with his or her thumb. The electronic control palm command control system travel lever provides single-level control of all dozing speeds and directional movement.
Rob Warden, product marketing manager for Komatsu, says the electronic control system was originally developed for larger dozers, but it has been adapted down to the smaller dozers and provides more power to the machine while dozing and turning.
A suspension seat is standard while adjustable armrests offer operators comfortable operation. The dozers have an internal volume at 76 dB.
“We still have the large operator-friendly cab,” Warden says. “It provides great visibility out to the work area.”
