Earth Drills Cut Through Tough Conditions

Ground Hog's earth drills are available in hydraulic and mechanical drive and work in all types of soil. The one-person 1M5C (pictured) earth drill puts the power of a two-person machine in the hands of one. The right-angle design minimizes operator fatigue by eliminating torque kick-back. The unit is constructed of heavy-gauge steel, high-quality bearings, an automotive-style tubular driveshaft and universal joints. The C-71-5 two-man earth drill is durable and requires little maintenance. Aluminum castings are used to produce a unit that is strong yet lightweight.

“Ground Hog's two-man earth drill has been a popular item in the rental industry for over 35 years,” says Jeff Carlson, product designer for Ground Hog. “Each operator has an individual stop switch. The unit's rugged construction features aluminum castings and tubular steel handlebars for added strength, although it is still lightweight and easy to transport.”

The HD99 hydraulic earth drill provides added power to cut through the toughest drilling conditions. The HD99 features a variable speed forward and reverse auger rotation and can dig up to 18 inches in diameter. The right angle design eliminates torque to the operator. The digging head pivots from side-to-side for drilling on uneven terrain. The unit comes with a towbar.

“Ground Hog's hydraulic earth drill is a more compact, powerful unit and gives the best combination of balance, size, price and power,” says Carlson. “The folding handlebar can adjust to three different positions for normal or up-close drilling. The folding handle allows drilling right next to the wall, which is a unique feature. The unique design also eliminates any torque to the operator, which is less fatiguing.”
