Deere's Twenty Series Tractors Fit the 21st Century
One of the keys to pleasing an equipment operator is providing a machine that is productive and efficient. A good start is ensuring that the operator is comfortable behind the wheel.
The four tractor models in John Deere's 5000 Twenty Series, including the 5320 (pictured), are built with the operator in mind. Three platforms are available - a basic straddle mount; an isolated flat platform; and a roomier, flat platform cab with improved hydraulics.
The line also features a fully integrated and isolated cab.
Product specialist Shane Rourke says the flat platform design lowers noise levels for the operator, even though bystanders might not notice any difference. The platform also increases the operator's ease of entry while offering expanded legroom.
Powered by a three-cylinder John Deere PowerTech diesel engine, the 5320 produces high torque at 55 horsepower and is available in two- or four-wheel drive. The collar shift transmission offers nine forward and three reverse speeds.
Rourke said the fuel tank's capacity has been enlarged to 27 gallons, allowing the operator to work longer than was possible with the 18-gallon fuel tanks on Deere's Ten Series tractors.
Options on the 5320 include a SynchShuttle transmission for smooth synchronized shifting and a midmount hydraulic valve with joystick controls for fast attachment and detachment of a loader.
Other improvements to the 5320 are additional lighting, improved front and rear visibility, reduced vibration, roll-over protection and new precision valves.
