Caterpillar Demonstrates Ability to Meet 2007 EPA On-Highway Emissions Standards
Peoria, Ill.-based Caterpillar Inc. last month demonstrated its ability to meet 2007 United States Environmental Protection Agency standards for on-highway truck and bus engines at an event in Washington D.C.
In making the announcement, the company displayed a 2007 emissions compliant truck powered by a Caterpillar C-15 on-highway truck equipped with ACERT technology. The Caterpillar truck on display features real-time emissions monitoring technology showing Caterpillar's ability to meet EPA's 2007 standards.
“We will provide 2007-compliant prototype engines to truck makers later this year, and the engines will be available for customer evaluation in the mid-2005 timeframe,” said Douglas Oberhelman, group president.
