SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic - Ransome Rents, the rental service division of Caterpillar dealer Giles & Ransome, has established a new location here, near Atlantic City, and will open another in Wilmington, Del., this month.

The Pleasantville location will be managed by Dwayne Mort and carry about 80 percent non-Cat brand equipment, according to Ken Bryant, vice president of Giles & Ransome, which is based in Bensalem, Pa.

"We recognize that not all of the equipment [contractors] are going to need is Cat equipment," Bryant said.

Ransome, which recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of its first Cat Rental Store in Allentown, Pa., plans to open additional branches in the Delaware Valley in the near future.

Nationwide, Cat dealers have now opened about 230 Cat Rental Stores.
