Aztec Sells Party Division
SAN ANTONIO — Aztec Rental Center sold its Aztec Events Party Rental division to Maun Petersen, former owner of Diamond Rental, Salt Lake City. Aztec will continue to operate its three San Antonio area construction equipment rental centers.
“We sold our party rental division so that we can focus on our core competency, which is construction and industrial equipment rental,” said Doug Raney, president of Aztec Rental Center. Aztec has served the construction and industrial rental market since 1967, opening its party rental division in 1997.
Petersen owned and operated Diamond Rentals for more than two decades before selling his controlling interest in Diamond to Rubicon Ventures in early 2000, remaining active as an investor in Rubicon. He established a party rental division for Diamond in Salt Lake City and plans to bring many of the same concepts to Aztec Events Party Rental. He will be retaining the existing Aztec staff.
Aztec has three equipment rental locations, two in San Antonio and one in New Braunfels, Texas.
Aztec was represented by Gary Stansberry and Fred Hageman of Hageman, Stansberry & Associates, Arlington, Texas, and Cameron Park, Calif.
