Americ's Mightyveyor Conveys a New Wave of Standards

Conventional conveyer belts might be a thing of the past soon .

The new MV-1015 Mightyveyor from Americ does things conveyor belts aren't designed for, such as bending around corners, climbing stairs and dissecting bushes. It also shuts off automatically and can be stacked in areas where space is at a premium.

The 119-pound device is designed for horizontal applications and features a smooth belt powered by a 110-volt, enclosed electric motor, setting the MV-1015 apart from competitors' products.

"The motor is totally enclosed, and it requires no maintenance," says Tim Heffron, Americ's director of sales and marketing. "It can be submerged in water or pressure-washed, and you won't damage the motor."

Heffron says a significant advantage to the electric motor is its quietness and the absence of fumes. In confined and/or indoor work areas, gas or diesel fuel films emitted from traditional conveyor belts can be unpleasant, making the Americ unit ideal for rental applications, he adds.

The MV-1015 is 10 feet long, and its conveyor belt is 15 inches wide. The unit is fitted with a safety circuit designed to terminate power if a power plug or cable is cut on the job site. Also, the unit will shut off if overloaded, allowing contractors to leave the unit running without the worry of accidents.

Americ also offers two options on the MV-1015: two motors and three-quarter-inch cleats designed to prevent items on the conveyor from sliding.
