American Equipment Parent Settles Lawsuit

CATAMARCA, Argentina - Minera Alumbrera Ltd. has settled a lawsuit against U.S. engineering firm Fluor Daniel, parent of American Equipment Co., No. 10 on the RER 100, for construction cost overruns.

Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.

The Bado de la Alumbrera copper and gold mining company charged that Fluor Daniel was negligent in its engineering, construction, management and purchasing while building Alumbrera's local facility when costs jumped $400 million above the original $798 million budget.
