Aggreko Acquires L&S in Baltimore

BALTIMORE - Power systems rental specialist Aggreko Inc. has acquired L&S Industries, an Aggreko rental dealer and service support site here.

The deal, which marks Aggreko's first acquisition of a dealer, will allow the supplier of utility rental services to expand its services and inventory in the Baltimore market, according to the company, based in New Iberia, La.

L&S became Aggreko's first North American agent in 1987 and began to focus on the rental market in 1990. In 1998, rental revenue accounted for 47 percent of total volume.

Former L&S co-owners John Litsinger and Nelson Laur will retire, while the location's 23 employees will remain on board.

Aggreko has more than 110 locations worldwide, including about 80 in North America.
