The new John Deere C-Series excavators — the 200C LC, 230C LC, 270C LC, 330C LC and 370C — have the power, speed and finesse to accomplish just about any job, with myriad design enhancements that set them apart from the predecessors.

Powered by a turbocharged John Deere PowerTech engine, the 200C LC, 230C LC and 270C LC feature 6.8-liter (414-cubic-inch) displacement that delivers 141 hp at 2,150 rpm, and the 330C LC and 370C provide 8.1-liter (494-cubic-inch) displacement that delivers 246 hp at 2,000 rpm. The engine's electronic control unit optimizes combustion, resulting in maximized fuel economy as well as emissions that achieve the Environmental Protection Agency's Tier II emissions standards.

“The ECU is programmed to manage fuel consumption, resulting in electronically controlled injection that delivers the exact amount of fuel that's needed,” says Mark Wall, business analysis manager, John Deere Worldwide Construction & Forestry Division. “Overall, the design improvements made to these excavators deliver control, fuel efficiency, enhanced operator comfort and easier operation.”

C-Series excavators offer a dig depth range of 21 feet, 11 inches to 26 feet, 3 inches and a reach of 32 feet, 6 inches to 38 feet, 9 inches. A full line of buckets ranging from 24 to 72 inches is available to meet a variety of applications. Typical lift capacity of the 200-series with a 9-foot, 7-inch arm at 5-foot height and 15-foot reach is 18,545 pounds. Typical lift capacity for the 300-series with a 13-foot, 1-inch arm at 5-foot height and 15-foot reach is 35,209 pounds.
