The BedBug landscape edger from BlueBird creates landscape beds with its bed shaping head and the CableLayer trenches, buries and backfills pet fence or landscape lighting in one fast, easy operation. A common platform and interchangeable blades and shields (available in optional kits) allow the operator to switch between each unit in minutes. The removable shield provides easy access for maintenance and cleaning without tools.

Each unit is powered by a 5.5-hp Honda GX engine with a centrifugal clutch. Carbide-tipped cutting blades provide consistent performance even through roots and hard ground. Cutting depth is adjustable from 2 to 4 inches. Four smooth tires offer superior stability, less turf damage and easy cleanup. Rear wheels have a lock feature to create straight bed edges or the operator can use full steering mode to create curved shapes. A fully adjustable and folding handle allows for easy storage and comfortable operating position. The handle-mounted release lever allows the operator to conveniently alternate between transport and operating positions.

“The BedBug fills two needs,” says Sean Dwyer, associate product manager for BlueBird. “One is the ability to provide defined borders for landscape beds and the other was to offer a cable laying option for laying pet fence or low voltage landscape lighting wire. The benefit of course is that the BedBug platform can accommodate both cutting attachments, thereby reducing the overall cost while offering double the revenue potential.”
