SANTA ANA, Calif. — Ecco Equipment Corp., which specializes in the rental of heavy earthmoving equipment, last month opened a new branch in Lakeside, Calif., in San Diego County, to support its customers in the San Diego area. Ecco also recently hired industry veteran Hal Dahlstrom, who has 30 years of experience renting equipment in San Diego, as territory representative to help develop new business in San Diego and Imperial counties.

“Even though we have been providing contractors in San Diego with rental equipment for over 30 years, it was difficult and costly to support from our locations in Orange County, Riverside, and Coachella,” said company president David Schmid. “We have now made a commitment to be physically closer to our customers and to provide more economical mobilization and better service.”

Ecco is leasing the property from Sean Green of Chuck Green & Associates, who, like Schmid, is a second-generation equipment specialist. Schmid is the son of founder David Schmid.

The Lakeside branch gives Ecco 13 U.S. facilities and seven in California. Ecco also has branches in Edmonton and Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada.

Based in Santa Ana, Calif., Ecco Equipment Corp. is No. 79 on the RER 100.
