Wacker

Wacker's new Magic Breaker Series is offered in two demolition models and three rotary hammer models. The brushless demolition hammers are lightweight at 19.8 pounds, and produce 14 pounds per blow of impact energy at a rate of up to 1,950 blows per minute. The brushless rotary hammers are also lightweight, weighing in at 24 pounds and producing 14 pounds per blow of impact energy at a rate of 1,000 to 2,600 blows per minute. The no-load drill speed produces 100 to 275 rpm and the maximum hole diameter measures up to 5 inches. By using rugged electronic components and a patent-pending electronic inverter in the motor, the breakers deliver three-phase power from a regular single-phase source. The new Magic Breaker Series also features a built-in automatic voltage compensator to protect the hammer, as well as the operator, from power peaks and drops.

CS Unitec

The Wet Diamond Core Drill Model END 1521 P is capable of drilling precise 3/8-inch to 1-¼-inch diameter holes in concrete and natural stone faster and cleaner than rotary hammer drills. The hand-held, lightweight drill has a quick-change diamond bit system, making core removal fast and easy. The rotary action of the END 1521 P allows drilling without the “blow out” and micro fractures that commonly occur with the percussion action of rotary hammers. With a 13.6-amp, high-speed motor with 6,000 rpm, the core drill is designed for drilling small-diameter anchor holes in concrete, reinforced concrete, block and natural stone. The unit drills without shock or vibration and its centering aid will ensure accurate drilling. There is also a vacuum connection for collecting the slurry.

Dewalt

Dewalt's new DW130V heavy-duty ½-inch spade handle drill is used for common drilling applications, including mixing various compounds and adhesives. The DW130V increases productivity with an increase to its motor speed. The new 0-550 rpm motor will mix any compound and perform any drilling quickly and easily. The mud mixer drill is also designed with a variable speed trigger, providing electricians and plumbers with the control they need in drilling applications, while drywallers will be able to regulate speed and prevent splashing while mixing glue, plaster or drywall compound. For comfort and versatility, the new DW130V comes equipped with a two-position spade handle and three-position side handle, which provide professional contractors with the ability to adapt the drill to a variety of positions.

John Deere

The new Series-II hydraulic breakers from John Deere have higher energy per blow than previous models. The five models range from 200 pound-foot to 1,200 pound-foot. The breakers employ a “gas-assist” cycle and utilize the hydraulic system for most of the firing power. A low-pressure, nitrogen-charged design significantly cushions recoil, protecting the machine and increasing operator comfort.

Bosch

The 11263EVS 1-¾-inch SDS-max combination hammer from Bosch is designed for any concrete drilling or chipping task. The tool's 13-amp motor powers 145 to 280 rpm and 1,350 to 2,800 bpm with 9.6 and 11.1-foot pounds impact energy in drilling and chipping, respectively. The 11263EVS replaces the Bosch 11235EVS and includes improvements such as a reengineered impact mechanism optimized for higher performance in both chipping and drilling modes. More beats and harder hits make it 33-percent faster than its predecessor in chipping, the manufacturer says. A special trigger mechanism that will not lock on in drilling mode, but converts to a rocker switch in chipping provides users with the best control in each application. Additional handle space provides users with space to use two hands in vertical applications and enough room to wear work gloves while operating the tool.

Target

Target's new family of core drill stands includes the DS 24 and DS 16 models. The DS 24 features a carbon-fiber, laminated aluminum column and offers a 24-inch cutting capacity. The DS 16 features an extruded aluminum column for strength and rigidity and offers a 16-inch cutting capacity. Both columns are lighter and stronger than steel columns and easier to transport. The anchor base on these drill stands is optimized for strength while reducing weight. The new bases have a larger anchoring slot for more flexibility when drilling. A quick disconnect for drill motors allows for easy assembly and disassembly. The universal motor mounting plate accepts most drill motors. Both the DS 24 and DS 16 use a 12-inch core drill bit without having to add spacers.

Hitachi Power Tools

The DS18DMR (pictured) and the DS14DMR are two additions to Hitachi's cordless drill series. The DS18DMR is an 18-volt cordless driver drill that delivers 550 inch-pounds of torque. It comes with two high-capacity 3.0Ah batteries that ensure longer run time between charges. The DS14DMR is the 14-volt cordless driver that delivers 450 inch/pounds of torque and comes with two high-capacity 2.0Ah batteries. Both offer 2-speed transmissions that feature no-load rpm of 0-400/1,600. The drills measure just more than 9 inches and weigh approximately 5 pounds. They allow for flexibility and ease of use in tight or overhead spaces.

Dimas

The new Dimas Gyro is designed to dramatically reduce setup time. The DS 50 Gyro is a telescopic drill rig system that can be used with most drill motors. The module design and the flexibility of the rig make it possible to drill straight and at almost any angle in walls, floors and ceilings. It is a complete drill stand consisting of a drilling column, a strut, carriages, a base plate with wheels and a rubber ceiling panel for attachment to ceilings. The DS 40 Gyro is a flexible and stable rig that works well with hand-held and small stand-mounted drill motors. It is 1.5 inches in diameter and can handle drill bits up to 6 inches. Its 2-inch wide profile can withstand heavy impact on jobsites and during transport. The Core Down System, CD 40, is an easy-to-use core catcher for secure removal of concrete cores. The system consists of a raise/lower mechanism with a locking handle and a brake lever, as well as a container for wall drilling and a bucket for drilling in ceilings.
