FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Do It Best Corp. recently sent its 1,000th participant through its Do It Best Rental Center Training School. More than 500 Do It Best Rental Center stores have sent employees to the training program, which covers how to manage rental inventory, safety tips, suggestive selling to increase associated product sales, how to qualify customers for the correct rental items, and fleet turnover.

“Rental continues to offer a way for Do It Best Corp. members to differentiate themselves from the competition,” said Chris Hill, Do It Best Rental Center program manager. “Industry awareness of rental is growing with more retailers offering it as a niche department. Rental is a natural fit, because the typical rental customer fits the same profile as customers already shopping in our members' stores.”

Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Do It Best Corp. is a member-owned hardware, lumber and building materials buying cooperative, serving 4,300 member-retailers in the United States and 42 other countries.
