Deere Acquires Irrigation Equipment Supplier

Moline, Ill.-based Deere & Co. acquired Richton International, a diversified manufacturer of irrigation and computer-related services and products based in New York for $125 million.

Richton's irrigation business — Century Supply — will be combined with McGinnis Farms to form John Deere Landscapes. The new entity will offer a full line of products and services to landscape and irrigation professionals.

Under terms of the sale, Richton stockholders can exchange ownership of the company for Deere shares or cash. Century Supply has more than 160 locations nationwide.
