Vermeer introduces the SC1152 stump cutter, which is designed to perform more efficiently with sizeable cutting width and the ability to maneuver in uneven terrain. The SC1152 can remove stumps up to 31 inches above ground and 25 inches below grade, and the cutter wheel guard remains parallel with the ground, providing smooth movements over obstacles. A straight-line cutting width of 72 inches at ground level allows the unit to easily remove wide stumps.

The SC1152 offers four-bar linkage on the cutter boom that allows the cutter wheel to drop straight down vertically onto the stump keeping the cutter wheel guard horizontal with the ground,” says Todd Roorda, environmental solutions specialist for Vermeer. “This helps keep clearance for the cutter wheel guard from obstacles.”

The cutter wheel is powered by a heavy-duty variable displacement hydrostatic pump. This design eliminates the need for clutch- and belt-drive maintenance, and the inline drive system between the motor and gearbox are connected by a driveshaft with u-joints, which helps reduce premature wear to seals and other motor components.
