JLG Lifts Its Presence in South Australia

JLG Industries last week announced it has relocated its South Australian business to larger, purpose-built new premises at Greenfields in Adelaide’s north. The move is the latest in a series of major upgrades, which are part of the access equipment leader’s increased focus on customer support throughout Australia.

The new 3,000-square meter branch is almost five times the size of the Salisbury South premises that have served JLG customers in South Australia for 13 years.

“We’re able to stock and display a vastly wider range of aerial work platforms and telehandlers than previously,” said Wayne Moschetti, state manager. “There’s a large hardstand display area with underground power connections, so there are no problems raising scissorlifts or telescopic boomlifts to their full height during customer demonstrations.

“Even more importantly the new premises include a greatly enhanced service workshop for South Australia. With an overhead gantry crane we can carry out major inspections and repairs efficiently, to keep equipment downtime to an absolute minimum.”

The new branch also includes a training venue where JLG specialists will conduct seminars to educate customers’ maintenance staff about correct diagnostic and service procedures.

JLG’s move to larger new South Australian premises coincides with a strong surge in local demand for the company’s products from end users and access equipment rental companies.

“There has been a lot of interest in the new ES scissorlift range and the European telehandlers are also proving extremely popular,” Moschetti said. “The South Australian economy is strong and rental companies are expanding their fleets in preparation for several major projects for SA in the mining and construction industries.

We’re putting on additional service specialists and field service vans to cope with the increased numbers of JLG equipment in service and we have also increased our replacement parts stock holding.”

South Australian users of JLG equipment will also benefit from the company’s plans to establish a major parts facility in Perth. The new warehouse will provide South Australia with a second source for parts now supplied from Sydney.

“Our new South Australian branch is the latest move in what is a total renewal of JLG facilities around the nation,” Andrew Satterley, the company’s general manager Australia and New Zealand said.
