CX210B Series Excavator
Case Construction Equipment
Case Construction Equipment introduces the CX210B excavator featuring increased fuel efficiency and productivity, improved operator comfort, easier maintenance, and enhancements to durability and reliability. The Case CX210B delivers a 20 percent increase in fuel efficiency and a 17 percent increase in horsepower over the previous model, thanks to the new electronically controlled, common rail Tier 3-certified engine. This engine burns cleaner and more efficiently, yielding 157 net hp (117 kW). Increased hydraulic flow has improved cycle times. The machine also provides increased breakout forces, primarily due to larger-diameter hydraulic cylinders. The cab on the CX210B offers improved operator comfort and ergonomics. The noise levels inside the cab are the quietest in the industry at 68.6 dBa. Maintainability and serviceability has been improved substantially, as measured by the SAE maintenance score, earning less than 15,000 points, well below competitive models and the SAE target of 16,000.
RER: What makes the CX210B Series Excavator innovative?
David Wolf, brand marketing maganer for Case Equipment: The CX210B is innovative because it features 20-percent better fuel economy and a 7- to 8-percent improvement in productivity. The excavator also features improved hydraulic components and operator comfort. By tightening up the hydraulic components, the unit is taking full advantage of the hydraulics and there is no waste. The excavator can also run longer because it only produces 68.5 dB(A) and can operate longer under the noise restrictions.
RER: What are the benefits to the CX210B Series Excavator? How does the unit make jobs more effective and efficient for rental professionals and their contractor customers?
Wolf: The CX210B is easy to operate and is great for rental. The rotating throttle switch and joystick controls make it easy to operate, and gives precise movement and control over the machine.
RER: Describe the development process of the CX210B Series Excavator. Where did the idea come from and who was responsible for its engineering and development?
Wolf: The process began three years ago when Case started interviewing customers about what they wanted and didn't want in an excavator. Then the engineers took what the customers had asked for and developed the CX210B.
