Riwal, international aerial work platform and telehandler rental specialist, has completed the integration of AFI GmbH, which it acquired in May 2017, into its organization.

Riwal, international aerial work platform and telehandler rental specialist, has completed the integration of AFI GmbH, which it acquired in May 2017, into its organization. The newly formed Riwal Arbeitsbühnenvermietung GmbH brings the Hamburg, Germany-based AFI GmbH and the German operations of Riwal Deutschland GmbH together under one roof. Dietmar Müller will join the company as country manager on Feb. 1.

The repositioning in Germany will enable the International Riwal Group to strengthen its position in the German market, making it one of the country’s leading full service aerial equipment rental companies.

The newly formed Riwal Arbeitsbühnenvermietung GmbH increases the number of Riwal branches in Germany from three to 11. This makes the company one of Germany’s largest rental operators of aerial work platforms and telehandlers. About 150 employees operate a rental fleet of close to 2,000 machines. The company’s comprehensive range of services is complemented by professional operator training through the IPAF-certified Riwal Academy, and sales of new and used aerial work platforms.

Müller, appointed the new country manager of Riwal Arbeitsbühnenvermietung GmbH, held the same position at Gardemann from 2015 to 2017.

“By forming Riwal Arbeitsbühnevermietung GmbH, and incorporating AFI GmbH into the Riwal Group, we have permanently strengthened our position in the German AWP rental market, one of the most significant markets in Europe,” said Riwal CEO Norty Turner. “We are now much better positioned to service both our existing and international customers in Germany as we strive to deliver the best customer experience. We are delighted to welcome Dietmar Müller, a strong and experienced industry specialist, to the Riwal team as our new Germany country manager.”

Riwal, headquartered in The Netherlands, has 67 branch operations in 16 countries.
