Messe München Acquires CTT Moscow Construction Trade Fair

Dec. 11, 2015
Messe München, organizer of Bauma, the world’s largest construction trade fair, has added to its portfolio of trade shows with the acquisition of CTT Expo in Moscow, the world’s fifth largest construction machinery show, from Russian trade fair company Media Globe LLC.

Messe München, organizer of Bauma, the world’s largest construction trade fair, has added to its portfolio of trade shows with the acquisition of CTT Expo in Moscow, the world’s fifth largest construction machinery show, from Russian trade fair company Media Globe LLC.

“CTT is an internationally known and established event,” said Klaus Dittrich, chairman and CEO of the Messe München board of management. “It is an ideal addition to our global construction machinery cluster. With the world’s leading trade fair Bauma in Munich as the centerpiece and our events in Shanghai, New Delhi, Johannesburg and, in future, Moscow, we have achieved a global market fair of more than 50 percent.”

Alexey Striganov, Media Globe proprietor, will remain as Messe München’s partner in Russia, staying on as a shareholder in the newly established company. The partnership enables Messe München to tap into an already existing extensive network, well organized in the Russian market.

CTT has been held in Moscow every year since 2000, with an area of 53,900 square meters and 670 exhibitors. Its next trade fair will be held in May 2016.
