Dromad Hire, a Dundalk, Ireland-based rental company, is now using Skyjack scissorlifts in its rental fleet. The company expects the machines to be used for retail construction and for work at computer software companies.
Dromad Hire is replacing older machines to enhance the company’s lift capabilities. A first batch of Skyjack scissorlifts has already been delivered and a second batch is scheduled to arrive this month.
Seamus Byrne, managing director for Dromad Hire, said the new machines are already meeting the company’s high standards. “Customers are incredibly happy with these new Skyjack scissors,” Byrne said. “The machines are reported to be very fast and smooth, as well as easy to operate.”
The new Skyjack lifts are all battery-powered machines. The SJIII 3219 is one of Skyjack’s Compact Series models that features a 2.9-foot extension deck, working heights up to 25.5 feet and gradeability up to 30 percent. It also features steel swing-out component trays, providing unrestricted access for easy maintenance and service.
The SJIII 3226 is one of Skyjack’s Narrow Conventional Series DC Electric Scissorlifts. It has a 900-pound capacity and working heights of up to 32.4 feet, while also providing a 2.9-foot roll out extension deck.
Specializing in construction and fitness equipment rentals, Dromad Hire has been in the tool hire industry for more than 20 years and now has 23 employees. In May, it won the Small Rental Company of the Year award, presented by the European Rental Association. It also received the Hire Association Europe’s Hire Company of the Year award.
Skyjack is a provider of access and telehandler equipment. Its product range includes vertical mast lifts, DC electric scissors, rough-terrain scissors, telescopic booms, articulating booms and telehandlers. In 2002 Skyjack became part of the Linamar Corp.
