The off-road mobile machinery and the engine market is declining as a result of the slowdown of Chinese economic growth, according to a report from Reportlinker, a market research firm. Still, according to statistics from the China Internal Combustion Engine Industry Association, China sold 60.4 million engines in 2014, a 1.67-percent decrease from the previous year, including 46.1 million road engines.

The sales volume of off-road engines declined 5.8 percent to 14.3 million, the report said. Garden machinery IC engines totaled 4.25 million in China, a 0.5 percent year-over-year decrease. The sales volume of generator-use IC engines declined 6.9 percent year over year to about 3 million. Construction machinery engines totaled 568,000, a 13.2-percent plunge.
