Deutz Produces 3 Millionth Engine at Cologne-Porz Factory

The three millionth engine came off the production line at Deutz’s main factory in Cologne-Porz, Germany, another milestone for the engine maker.

The three millionth engine came off the production line at Deutz’s main factory in Cologne-Porz, Germany, another milestone for the engine maker. Last year, Deutz produced the nine millionth engine to be built worldwide since the company was founded more than 150 years ago.

Deutz opened its engine factory in Cologne-Porz in June 1993. The site is now home to Deutz’s most important assembly plant and the company’s international headquarters. Recently Deutz began producing camshafts and crankshafters at the new shaft center in Cologne-Porz.

Deutz now employs about 3,700 people and offers a broad spectrum of liquid-cooled and air-cooled engines with capacities ranging from 25kW to 520kW. The engines are used in construction equipment, agricultural machinery, material handling equipment, stationary equipment, commercial vehicles, rail vehicles and more.
