At the Milan meeting Ernst van Hek, managing director of Hek Manufacturing BV, was elected chairman of the working group.

“This group will fill a gap in the industry,” said van Hek. “Although there are existing standards and guidelines for the use of mast climbers, hoists and aerial work platforms, standards for the use of this important new technology don’t currently exist.”

Manufacturers who wish to become involved in this project may contact the chairman or the convenor, Romina Vanzi, via [email protected].

IPAF is the parent organization of North America’s Aerial Work Platform Training. Both are not-for-profit member organizations that promote the safe and effective use of powered access equipment.
