New Zealand’s leading rental company Hirepool has seen immediate results from its new mobile depot that it recently launched to service the growing Auckland area. Hirepool Reloader, a dedicated, fully equipped, mobile rental branch working out of an Auckland City branch, has been visiting construction sites in downtown Auckland.

“We’ve been on the road for just two weeks,” said mobile manager Shamus Stanaway. “We took 30 orders in our second week as well as a number of calls from new customers, which is very encouraging.”

Using a custom-built Ford Transit and trailer, Hirepool Reloader has a wide range of light and medium equipment, including grinders, pumps, ram-set guns, wet vacs, welders, small generators, compactors and safety items. It is equipped with mobile technology, enabling it to process transactions, including contract and invoice generation, equipment searches, and print relevant product safety information for customers.

“We literally are a mobile one-stop shop and if we don’t have what a customer needs, we can go to our nearest depot and deliver it within an hour,” added Stanaway.

Hirepool chief executive Tenby Powell added that the mobile depot enables the company to service existing and new customers in the inner city in a consistent and highly responsive manner. Hirepool can also utilize the depot to arrange orders for heavy equipment, which can be delivered immediately from one of its many Auckland branches.

Hirepool also recently opened a Henderson Rentals branch in Wellington. Hirepool acquired Henderson, an established truck and commercial vehicle rental company early last year. Henderson has a fleet of about 500 vehicles used by contracting and construction companies, courier companies and various other kinds of businesses. Hirepool named Mike Staal manager of the new branch.
