Lavendon Group, one of Europe’s leading aerial rental companies, said first-quarter revenues increased 11 percent compared with last year, in preliminary results released this week.

Revenues from each of the company’s European businesses increased during the period, reflecting a combination of volume growth and pricing improvements. Middle Eastern revenues, the majority of which are generated from Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Abu Dhabi, countries that have been exposed to political unrest in the region, were down from the previous year, with volumes broadly unchanged but average prices yet to recover.

Rental revenues increased 11 percent in the U.K., 17 percent in Germany, 24 percent in Belgium, 20 percent in France, 10 percent in Spain, while decreasing 7 percent in the Middle East.

Lavendon is based in Lutterworth, Leicestershire, U.K.
