Lavendon Access Service, owner of the United Kingdom’s two largest aerial rental companies, Nationwide Access and The Platform Co., last week said it will combine the companies and name the combined units Nationwide Platforms. The brand will be launched throughout the U.K. Nov. 3.

Lavendon undertook an extensive market research study with customers of both companies before determining the change.

“Reflecting both companies within the name is important as they both represent strong positions in the U.K. market,” said Lavendon chief executive Andy Wright. “Finalizing the new name is clearly a critical step in the merger process.”

Based in Lutterworth, Leicestershire, England, Lavendon has about 130 branches in the U.K., Germany, France, Belgium, Spain and the Middle East.
