“We’re very excited about IronPlanet’s European business launch and inaugural auction,” said Tom Cornell, managing director of IronPlanet Europe. “IronPlanet has just completed a record year in 2008 and our launch in Europe is another significant milestone in our international growth strategy. I am pleased with the market reception to our European launch and the number of equipment consignments in our first auction.”

IronPlanet’s Jan. 28 auction features more than 150 machines from McCormick & McNaughton of Ireland, Pon CAT Rental of Denmark, Liebherr of the U.K., JLG EMEA and other suppliers from the Netherlands, France, Ireland and Poland. The auction features a broad range of equipment, including aerial work platforms, backhoes, compactors, dozers, excavators, loaders, skid-steers, trucks and more.

Detailed inspection reports for each piece of equipment in the Jan. 28 unreserved auction can be viewed on www.ironplanet.com. Inspection reports include a visual inspection of key systems and components along with ratings and notes, images of the equipment, wear-related measurements and oil/fluid samples when appropriate.

Prior to auction day, registered bidders can place bids through IronPlanet’s PriorityBid service. This service can also automate bidding on the buyer’s behalf if the buyer is not able to attend the auction.
