Indian Manufacturer Elgi Equipment Acquires Italian Compressor Maker Rotair

Indian air compressor and automobile service station equipment manufacturer Elgi Equipment, has acquired Italian compressor maker Rotair S.p.A., according to Indian news media.

Indian air compressor and automobile service station equipment manufacturer Elgi Equipment, has acquired Italian compressor maker Rotair S.p.A., according to Indian news media. The acquisition strengthens Elgi’s international presence, with Rotair products sold in more than 60 countries with annual revenue of €15 million (about U.S. $18.9 million).

Rotair’s existing management team will stay in place, Elgi officials said. Giovanni Donadio, Rotair president, said “Elgi is the ideal partner to take Rotair to the next level of growth and development.”

Elgi has been growing internationally, having acquired France-based Belair, a manufacturer of industrial compressors, piping, fittings and accessories, in 2010.

Rotair is based in Northern Italy and designs, manufactures and distributes a range of compressors and allied product for the construction and industrial sectors. Elgi is based in Coimbatore, India.
