U.K. rental company Hewden has announced plans to reorganize the company’s nationwide branches into three regions, each responsible for all types of equipment the company offers. The company previously had five geographic regions and five stand-alone product-specific divisions.

In the re-structured organization, each of the regions will report to a regional general manager. A regional sales manager will be responsible for sales strategy, coaching and development for area sales managers.

Hewden, owned by Vancouver, B.C., Canada-based Finning International, is likely to close some branches during the first quarter of 2009, the company said.

Company officials said the new structure is designed to provide faster decisions for Hewden customers.
