Finish international rental giant Cramo has expanded in Norway by taking over the rental operations of JM Byggholt AS, including all rental assets and its staff of 12 employees. Related to the deal is a seven-year cooperation agreement which makes Cramo the primary equipment rental supplier to JM Byggholt’s operations. JMB’s revenues in 2007 were €212.5 million.

Cramo has 29 rental branches in Norway, and JM Byggholt is one of the 10 largest construction companies in the country with a major market in Oslo, the country’s capital. It also has branches in Stavanger, Bergen, Skien, and Tonsberg. Cramo has grown its Norwegian operations rapidly over the past few years through startups and acquisitions.

“Growing in partnership with important customers is in many ways the ideal way to expand,” said Finn Lokken, Cramo AS’ managing director. “In this case it gives us immediate access to the competence and existing customer relationships of JM Byggholt’s rental personnel as well as its maintained fleet of modern, efficient rental equipment. Furthermore it gives us a quick start in the scaffolding area.”

JM Byggholt’s rental operations, based in Baerum, outside of Oslo, will be integrated under the Cramo brand.
