ConExpo Asia Attendance Expected to Triple

ConExpo Asia 2007, to be held in Guangzhou, China, Dec. 4-7, is tracking at triple the number of attendee registrations compared with two months before the 2006 show. Attendees already signed up come from 60 countries. Currently 57 percent of the registrants are from China, and 43 percent from outside the country.

The top countries for attendance to date are China, United States, Canada, India and Australia, and significant numbers of attendees are expected from Russia, the Middle East, the Philippines, and throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

ConExpo Asia is attracting high-level management personnel with 33 percent of pre-registered attendees registering as president/owner, 14 percent citing vice president/general manager/chief financial officers, and 20 percent registering as marketing/sales managers. More than 55 percent of registrants are contractors or equipment dealers, and materials producers and equipment rental professionals are also well represented, according to show organizers, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers.
