Atlas Copco Acquires Chinese Compressed Air Treatment Products Maker

Atlas Copco (China) Investment Co. Ltd. this week acquired the Wuxi Shengda Air/Gas Purity Equipment Co. in China. The newly acquired company has annual revenues of CNY 95 million (about U.S. $15.1 million).

Atlas Copco (China) Investment Co. Ltd. this week acquired the Wuxi Shengda Air/Gas Purity Equipment Co. in China. The newly acquired company has annual revenues of CNY 95 million (about U.S. $15.1 million).

Wuxi Shengda is based in and has production facilities in Wuxi, near Shanghai, where it manufactures compressed air and gas-drying and filtration equipment. It is a privately owned company with 130 employees and has been active in the air treatment industry since 1996.

“This acquisition is in line with Atlas Copco’s strategy to offer complete solutions to our customers,” said Stephan Kuhn, business area president of Atlas Copco Compressor Technique. “It provides us with a wider and more complete range of air and gas treatment equipment, and increases our production, sales and service presence in China.”

Shengda’s customer base consists of state-owned steel, car manufacturing, petrochemical, textiles and electronics companies. The company, which will become part of Atlas Copco Compressor Technique’s Quality Air division, will continue to operate under the Shengda brand name.

Atlas Copco, Stockholm, Sweden, is an industrial group that produces compressors, expanders and air treatment systems, construction and mining equipment, power tools and assembly systems. Atlas Copco’s Compressor Technique business area provides industrial compressors, gas and process compressors and expanders, air and gas treatment equipment and air management systems. It has a global service network and offers specialty rental services.
