Wacker Construction Equipment AG, the Munich, Germany parent company of Menomonee Falls, Wis.-based Wacker Corporation last week announced the purchase of Weidemann Holding GmbH.
Weidemann is a market leader in German-speaking areas when it comes to small, compact front-end loaders, especially in the field of farming and landscaping. Over the past three years, the company has grown by about 25 percent and generates sales of more than U.S. $64.5 million with its employees of just under 300 at its two sites in Diemelsee-Flechtdorf and Gotha.
A private-equity fund advised by Munich-based Orlando Management GmbH conducted the acquisition, which is subject to the approval of the European antitrust authorities.
