United Rentals last week announced the opening of a National Accounts Customer Service Center in Shelton, Conn. The facility is staffed by seven full-time customer service representatives who provide the company’s largest accounts with a single point of contact for equipment rentals, sales and contractor supplies.

The national accounts center staff is equipped to deal with any kind of administrative request about the accounts of national customers, such as questions about invoices, deliveries and any transaction the customer has had in its history of doing business with United Rentals, Chuck Wessendorf, United’s vice president of investor relations and corporate communications, told RER.

“This allows us to be incredibly responsive to customer requests,” said Ernie Delle Donne, United’s vice president of national accounts and government sales. “It’s not unusual for one of our national accounts to be based in the Northeast, for example, and need equipment delivered immediately to jobsites in Miami, Kansas City or Vancouver. Our new service center expands on United Rentals’ unique ability to service large-scale needs.”

No. 1 on the RER 100, Greenwich, Conn.-based United Rentals has more than 730 rental locations in 47 states, 10 Canadian provinces and Mexico.
