Port Orange, Fla.-based Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Co. recently moved its Pocomoke City, Md., branch operation to a larger facility. The new facility will better accommodate the company’s growing customer needs for rentals, sales, parts and service.

The Pocomoke branch office, one of 18 Thompson Pump branches nationwide, covers the Delaware, Maryland and Virginia Eastern Shore territory serving more than 200 customers. Under the direction of industry veteran Wayne Bowman and operations manager Kenny Midgett the branch provides a full line of Thompson Pump products for sale or rental and the expertise to provide solutions for dewatering, bypass and special pumping applications.

“This move is welcomed by our staff as they continue to face increasing rental and sales demands,” said Tim Creech, Thompson Pump southeast regional manager. “The new location provides more room for increased growth and will enable us to service an expanded customer base.”

In other company news, George Olsker was recently promoted to national accounts manager and David Schoen to process planner. The company also appointed Gentry Baumline as marketing director.

Olsker recently relocated from San Clemente, Calif., to the Port Orange, Fla., corporate headquarters. He has more than 35 years experience in the pumping industry and will handle all national contractor and rental accounts including municipalities, water and waste business and special projects.

Baumline brings five years of extensive public relations and marketing experience to the position as department head. Her main duties will include development and implementation of all national advertising and public relations campaigns in conjunction with the company’s advertising agency while overseeing the annual marketing budget. Baumline will also develop a promotional items program to better assist each branch location, create promotional materials and product literature for sales staff, and assist sales staff with national trade shows and Pumpology Schools.

Thompson Pump has an extensive rental program and is No. 41 on the RER 100.
