A regional summit to discuss solutions to the growing problem construction and farm equipment theft will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2005, at Polk County’s Stuart Center. The summit will be hosted by Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, and is sponsored by FBI-LEEDA and the National Equipment Register.

This free one-day seminar is open to law enforcement and equipment owners or distributors and will include general sessions on the equipment theft problem, theft prevention, and explanations and demonstrations of new equipment security technologies. Break-out classes will provide law enforcement with instruction in equipment identification techniques, including hands-on training, and equipment owners with more in-depth theft prevention training. The sponsored breaks and lunch will give equipment owners and law enforcement a chance to network and discuss ways of working together to combat this growing and costly problem of equipment theft.

All registrations must be received by NER [email protected] by September 14. Space is limited and places will be allocated on a ‘first come first served’ basis.
