H&E Equipment Services last week announced the formation of an Energy Solutions Division to provide energy-efficient lighting systems to industrial and commercial facilities in Utah and surrounding areas. H&E has formed a partnership with Plymouth, Wis.-based Orion Energy Systems to offer advanced lighting systems. The company manufactures energy-efficient lighting systems designed to deliver electricity savings of 50 percent, while offering better quality light.

H&E’s Salt Lake City branch has been researching, testing and selling Orion’s products for nearly two years.

“We discovered that cutting 50 percent off our own lighting costs was a fabulous way to remain competitive in our 225,000-square-foot warehouse and shop,” said Dave Heinz, manager of industrial sales for H&E. “After completing our own re-lamping to the satisfaction of our employees, we thought our industrial and commercial customers would like to have the same opportunity to become more energy efficient, hence we created this new Energy Solutions division with Bob Worthington as our sales director.” H&E has already done several energy-efficient lighting projects in the Salt Lake City area.

“With electricity rates expected to rise significantly, H&E anticipates that many energy-conscious customers will want to take advantage of the dramatic energy savings associated with Orion Systems,” Worthington said. “We will help customers take hundreds of megawatts off Utah’s grid, enhance our customers’ workplace with better lighting, improve Utah’s environment through large-scale energy efficiencies and help Utah companies cut operating costs to remain competitive.”

Based in Baton Rouge, La., H&E Equipment Services is No. 10 on the RER 100.
